History:
Founded: 1917.
Originally founded as a football club and one of the three clubs to establish the Greek Football Association, the organization expanded to add swimming, track and field and shooting sports prior to World War II. After the end of the war, it had to redefine its identity, with basketball being added in the late 60s. The women’s basketball team started operating in the 80s and got consecutive promotions to reach division one in 2007. After celebrating its first championship in 2009, the club continued its dominance by winning four consecutive titles (2009-2012), and three cups in a row (2010-2012), all while reaching the remarkable streak of 106 undefeated games in the domestic leagues. At the same time the team participated in Eurocup, reaching the semi-finals in 2009 and 2011, and lifting the trophy in 2010. It also played in the FIBA Super Cup in 2010. Following the success of the club, came a few rough years, especially during the COVID-19 era, with the team playing in the A2 category from 2020 untill 2023, when it reached promotion and won the second division league title.
