In 1999 Excelsior merged with AERA Castor and renamed itself AERA Excelsior Brussel VZW
In 2007-08 Atomia Brussels did not make it to the start of the season. The club from the capital had attracted several players, but when the city government revised its commitments and the sponsors remained absent, the plug went out.
