Portugal  Faria named Tournament MVP as FC Porto sweep to U18 men's national title
FC Porto are 2025-26 Portuguese U18 men's national champions, completing a perfect 3-0 run through the Final Phase with a victory over PAC/NEXT LEVEL to succeed Imortal BC as title holders in one of the most balanced national tournaments in recent memory.
Tournament MVP Francisco Faria (184-G-2009) the young point guard who finished with a 19.5 efficiency rating across the three days was the standout performer of the competition, earning his place alongside teammate Francisco Oliveira (194-F-2008) on the All-Tournament Five. Oliveira was named MVP of the final after posting 12 points and 12 rebounds in another commanding display that exemplified the Dragoes' dominant interior presence.
The final game was as competitive as the rest of the weekend. Both sides produced another excellent contest at the level that defined the tournament from start to finish, but FC Porto's quality and depth proved enough to secure the three-from-three sweep and the title.
In the other Sunday game, SC Beira-Mar beat Sporting CP by just two points to clinch second place a result that summed up the razor-thin margins separating the four finalists. Sporting CP finished third, and PAC/NEXT LEVEL who could have won the championship with victory in the day's main game settled for fourth despite their close call against the eventual champions.
All-Tournament Five: Francisco Faria (FC Porto), Francisco Oliveira (FC Porto), Sebastiao Faro (192-G-2009) (Sporting CP), Simao Cordeniz (183-G-2008) (SC Beira-Mar), M. Silva (PAC/NEXT LEVEL)
The trophy was presented in a ceremony attended by national team head coach Mario Gomes, U18 men's national team coach Philippe da Silva, FPB Vice President Nuno Manaia, and AB Alentejo President Jose Sargaco. FPB President Joao Carvalho was also in attendance throughout the Final Phase.

Chad closed out the group phase of the FIBA U18 AfroBasket Zone 4 qualifiers in first place, grinding past Central African Republic 65-54 at the Polideportivo de Malabo on Wednesday to finish 3-1 and secure the top seed into the semifinals. It was a fittingly scrappy finish to a low-scoring affair. Neither side shot the ball well Chad managed just 37 percent from the field and a rough 42. 9 percen..

Day two of the FIBA U18 AmeriCup had everything its blowout-heavy opener lacked: a classic finish, a comeback for the ages and a reshuffled look at both groups. Argentina, blown out by the United States 24 hours earlier, authored the day's signature moment, clawing back from 14 points down in the fourth quarter to stun Brazil 84-83 on a go-ahead layup in the final seconds.
