Georgia  Gabriel Balanchivadze claims Georgian U18 League Hoops Agents weekly honour
Talented Gabriel Balanchivadze (182-F-2009) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best BC Wings and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 32.
The 16-year old forward had a double-double of 20 points and 23 rebounds, while his team beat Brooklyn (#9, 9-15) 86-74. Wings maintains the 2nd position in Georgian U18 League. They are still close to the very top. Wings would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 21-4 record. Balanchivadze turned to be Wings' top player in his first season with the team. Balanchivadze has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 21.4ppg), rebounds (6th best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 3.7spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Giorgi Jalagonia (185-F-2008) of Martve Tbilisi U18 team. Jalagonia impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Martve cruised to a 79-71 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Dinamo (#13, 3-21). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Martve managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 12th place. 20 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Martve managed to get this year. Jalagonia is a newcomer at Martve and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#7). He also registered 11.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Davit Trapaidze (175-PG-2009) of BC Academy U18 team (#5). Trapaidze showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Academy, leading his team to a 78-77 win against slightly higher-ranked Hyundai (#3, 17-6). Academy needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 8 lost games. Trapaidze has a great season in Georgia. After 25 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.6ppg (2nd best) and assists with 4.8apg (7th best). He also has 2.9spg and a FGP of 59.4%.
